Reflections on "Charity"
by Fr. Leo Clifford, OFM
1 Corinthians 13, 4-7. St. Paul tells us, "Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, love is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
Jesus commands us
"Love one another,
as I have loved you."
What is "Love"?
“Love demands
a personal commitment
to the will of God.”
- Saint John Paul II
"The secret of Christian living is love. Only love fills the empty spaces caused by evil."
- Pope Francis
Mary - Our Lady of Grace,
help us to love Jesus as you do.
The Mass is Heaven on Earth
1 John 4:19
We love because He first loved us.
"Darkness can only be scattered by light, hatred can only be conquered by love."
- St. John Paul II
"God loves us despite our shortcomings and sins. And, His love gives meaning to our lives and to the life of the world."
- Pope Benedict XVI
